Wow... haven't seen anyone else feature steps this week but have to admit that I had been thinking of doing so at one point, only to change my mind after spotting the photos that I eventually opted to use! ;)

I like pictures that spark the imagination, and that's exactly what this one does. You can't help but wonder what it's like at the top of the stairs. Since I'm originally from Illinois, and have been on the river at Alton many times, I have a pretty good idea what's up there, but I still wonder. :0) Nice job.

What a beautiful picture! Someone else already said that this one sparks the imagination, and he was right. I´ve never been up these stairs but really wonder what´s up there.

This is great! I love stairways of any kind because I'm also a Hitchcock fan. I also like the shadows the trees create on the stairs. You've created the first mysterious take on the theme I've seen this week.

Stop by and see my if you have a chance.

I bet it is even prettier right after a rain.

I love the chipped stairs! They have had many years of use and probably many stories to tell.

I love the perspective, and how it makes me long to go into the picture and see what's beyond. Beautiful!

Beautiful shot! I'm quite partial to stairs in general. The sun dappling and chips really add something, too.''

Thanks for visiting my entry!

Nice subject for the theme! I also like the view from the top - it looks like you can stay dry up there when the Mississippi floods.

I love the perspective! Yes, your steps aren't as chipped as mine, but they are probably younger. :)
